Yellow-spotted Agama (Trapelus flavimaculatus)


Also known as the blue-headed agama is a large diurnal lizard. When agitated this lizards head will turn bright blue and the tail orange. In this picture the orangish color can be seen on the tail. This individual was recorded from Khor Al Zowra, Ajman, United Arab Emirates (UAE) by Junid Nazeer Shah and Abdulla Ali Al Hammadi. They are quite aggressive with a mainly carnivorous diet.
