This snake is commonly known as the Sand Racer or Sand Snake. This species Psammophis schokari is a very fast and agile snake capable of speedy outbursts. This individual was collected from Al Ain in Abu Dhabi Emirate, UAE. They are back-fanged with a mildly toxic venom. being back-fanged the fangs are grooved so the venom has to trickle down as opposed to front fanged snakes which have hypodermic-needle type fangs.
